Submitting MUR/NMS quarterly information
Community pharmacy contractors are reminded of the requirement to submit completed Medicines Use Review (MUR) and/or New Medicine Service (NMS) electronic reporting templates to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHS BSA) within 10 working days from the last day of June 2017.
Previously, this information was reported directly to local NHS England teams. However, in 2016/17 a new process was rolled out with NHS BSA taking on the role of collecting the completed electronic reporting MUR and NMS templates for community pharmacy contractors, on behalf of NHS England.
Further information on how to submit MUR and/or NMS quarterly data can be found on the NHS BSA website. NHS BSA is also holding webinars during the first week of July to provide contractors with insight and guidance on this subject.
Webinar dates:
Monday 3rd July, 2-3pm
Tuesday 4th July, 2-3pm
Thursday 6th July, 10:30-11:30am
Contractors will need to register to join the webinars at least two business days in advance of the date they wish to attend.
As a reminder, Analyst is able to generate completed quarterly reports for both the MUR and NMS services to the requirements of the NHS BSA. Full details are available within the Analyst help-file by pressing F1.

Pregabalin update
You may be aware of the recent patent litigation of Lyrica. The patent is now set to expire and NHS England has released new guidance in regards to the prescribing and dispensing of pregabalin, which comes into effect from 17th July 2017.
It is also worth noting that when dispensing pregabalin for the treatment of any condition, pharmacies should dispense in accordance with their normal practice.
