Hints & Tips
‘Bucket’ supplier: Add an additional out of stock supplier to catch all out of stock replies by setting up a Replies set from the Auto button within Supplier details. This can make it easier for viewing these products and to take relevant action to source out of stock products.
Task reminders: You can create task reminders for daily prompts. From Setup, click on Task Reminders and then click New. Very useful for reminding when to check and send an order for example.
Analyst icons: Click on Help, then Contents and Index and type in ‘icons’ within the search box. Choose from the left hand side and this will display the icons list and tell you what the icons mean.
Pharmacy teams share their views on preferred EPS enhancements –top survey results announced.
During September, NHS Digital launched a survey to gather the views of community pharmacy teams about which enhancements to the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) they would like to see prioritised. This survey was prepared by NHS Digital with support from PSNC and others.
Around 1,000 pharmacy team members took part by completing the online survey. PSNC and NHS Digital would thank all those who took part.
The top three most requested EPS enhancements from the survey were:
➢ High priority prescriptions: ability for prescribers to add alerts to urgent EPS prescription;
➢ One-off nomination: to manage a patient’s request for the one-off use of a pharmacy while ensuring that future prescriptions return to the original nominated dispenser; and
➢ Automatic downloads: ability to choose to automatically have prescriptions appear in the dispensing system inbox throughout the day without manual download requests.
The full results will be analysed in detail by NHS Digital, PSNC, and the Community pharmacy IT Group, to further inform workplans.
Contractors and their teams can also visit psnc.org.uk/engageIT to find out how to get further involved with EPS and IT developments.
