EPS enhancements survey

NHS Digital has launched a survey to gather the views of community pharmacy teams about which enhancements to the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) you would like to see prioritised. This survey was prepared by NHS Digital with support from PSNC and the RPS.

All pharmacy staff can now take part in this work by completing the online EPS enhancements survey. It should take around 5-10 minutes to complete, depending on your answers. PSNC and NHS Digital would like to hear the views of all community pharmacy team members, therefore multiple members of staff at each pharmacy can complete the survey if they wish. Staff at multiple head offices may also complete the survey in relation to specific pharmacies.

This survey will help NHS Digital and PSNC to explore how best to prioritise the enhancement of EPS, which should ultimately benefit pharmacy staff and patients, so PSNC encourages all pharmacy team members to take part and share their views.

Hints & Tips

Patient details: You can use the EPS nomination wizard to discover patient contact details and NHS numbers, without completing the nomination, to enable contact with the patient for further queries.

Inbound orders: Do something with inbound orders; -if they are not booked in they will sit there forever! Set the auto-accept to prevent the Purchases screen becoming overloaded with order history.

Dispense notifications: Set up the ‘Notify’ button as a speed button on the script queue screen to allow quick access to processing repeat scripts.
