New BLF resource to assist with respiratory-targeted MURs

The British Lung foundation (BLF) has published a new British Lung foundation consultation guide which aims to support pharmacists in undertaking a Medicines Use Review (MUR) on patients with asthma or COPD.

The guide helps to ensure that pharmacists are asking the right questions and deliver clear messages to support better medicines understanding and healthy lifestyle messages. It follows a format similar to the PSNC MUR worksheet and enables the minimum MUR dataset to be collected.

Community pharmacy teams are reminded that PSNC has a page which provides information about the support available from the BLF for people with lung conditions to aid community pharmacy teams with signposting patients to relevant sources of information, and to also highlight to pharmacy teams about how to become a BLF Professional.
