Hints & Tips

Dispensing labels: If you need to add medication to a patient’s history but do not require the labels to be printed, holding down the Shift button when pressing ‘End’ will prevent printing.

Reduce your product search: Use the Active Products report to monitor products being used; tag and template to deactivate unwanted products or set as restricted to list them at the top of the product search.

Private script check: If you need to check a private prescription price without dispensing to a patient, press the MISC button, followed by the private prescription checker, and enter the item to find the price.

Submitting MUR/NMS quarterly information

Community pharmacy contractors are reminded of the requirements to submit completed Medicines Use Review (MUR) and/or New Medicine Service (NMS) electronic reporting templates to the NHS Business Services Authority (NHS BSA) within 10 working days from the last day of September 2017.

Previously, this information, which contractors are required to submit within 10 working days from the last day of the quarter that the data refers to (last day of June, September, December and March), was reported directly to local NHS teams. However, in 2016/17 a new process was rolled out with NHS BSA taking on the role of collecting the completed electronic reporting MUR and NMS templates for contractors, on behalf of NHS England.

Further information on the process to follow to submit MUR and/or NMS quarterly information can be found on the NHS BSA website.
