EPS Phase 4 is only going to national deployment with TPP prescribing sites at the current time. Approx. 5% of the TPP sites will be going live between 18th November to 13th December 2019.

Following a review over the Christmas period to ensure the success criteria has been met with this initial implementation, a further 10% of TPP sites will be enabled from January 2020.

NHS Digital will continue to work with the other prescribing system suppliers in order to achieve national deployment for all prescribing systems in 2020.

All dispensers need to be aware they could receive EPS Phase 4 tokens from a patient.

Phase 4 token barcodes should be scanned and dispensed in the same way as any other electronic prescription.
